| Nowadays due to the unbearable summer heat, air conditioners have turned into a basic necessity rather than luxury. The air conditioner was first launched by Stuart Cramer, but the word was suggested by Willis Carrier. The scientific innovation helps people a number of ways. For instance, after the installation of an air conditioning system to a Houston theatre, the number of theatre-goers rapidly increased. The air conditioning reduces air humidity and maintains its quality. There are air conditioning systems that dry the air without cooling it. The main constituents of the AC are a condenser, an evaporator and a compressor. There is also a chemical substance that converts liquid to gas and vice versa. Air conditioning systems come in two types: a split and a package system. In the split system, the condenser and the compressor are set outside the room and the evaporator used for circulating the air around the room is installed inside the room. In the package system, all components are installed outside the room. There are small-sized, mid-sized and large-sized air conditioning systems. The most widespread AC is the window air conditioner which is installed on a window and specially designed for cooling a particular room. If more than one room is to be cooled, opt for a split or a mini-split air conditioning system, hinging on how many rooms you wish to cool. The most widely used ones are portable air conditioning systems which you can move around. For cooling the whole house select central air conditioners. Portable air conditioners are advantageous, because you can install them in whichever room you wish. It is a movable unit on wheels so that you can easily move it from one room to another. The only drawback of the air conditioner is monthly electricity bills that can affect one's pocket. However, here are several tips that help you decrease the amount of electricity consumed by your AC and, consequently, bills: • Do not place the AC where the sun faces it directly. This makes the air conditioning system use more electricity for cooling a room. • Do not install a large air conditioning system in a small room. • Shut all doors and windows, when the AC is in on. Hence, proper installation and deployment of the AC will save power. |
